IE11: can't print web pages

I have the same problem as many seem to have ,but with a different IE version. I'm Running IE 11 and it won't print articles, or web pages, or emails, even when a "print" option is available on the site( i.e. Web Md) etc. I'm using a Lexmark Pro 901 printer and have uninstalled and reinstalled it as to make sure firmware and software are OK. The printer will print receipts received via email and test pages, so it seems to work fine, but just ran into this problem lately after updating to IE 11. I can hit the print option on web pages but nothing happens, and some pages will put a document in the queue, but not print. I have even printed pages to file with Foxit and then tried to print it, but nothing??  Print from command bar will not work, nor from Yahoo mail page.  Running windows 7x64 IE 11 Thanks

Answer

Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

  1. Do you get any error message when you try to print?
  2. Are you able to print from other browser?
  3. Are you able to print the saved documents on the computer?

This issue may occur due to outdated or corrupted printer drivers, if you do not have printer permissions assigned, if Protected Mode is enabled for the Internet security zone of the web page or if there is an issue with temporary folders on your user account and the Low folder under the %TEMP% location has been deleted.

You may try the following methods and check if they help:

Method 1: Try printing a webpage running Internet Explorer as an Administrator.
Follow the steps provided below:

  1. Close all Internet Explorer windows.
  2. Click Start
  3. Type Internet Explorer in search box.
  4. Right click on Internet Explorer and click Run as
    Administrator.
  5. Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the
    Administrator.

Method 2: Try printing a webpage after disabling Protected Mode, to do this, follow steps below:

  1. Click the Tools icon in Internet Explorer
  2. Click the Security tab and uncheck the checkbox
    beside Enable Protected Mode
    (requires restarting Internet Explorer)
  3. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  4. Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then restart Internet
    Explorer.
  5. Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the
    Administrator.

Method 3:Re-create the missing folder

To recreate the folder follow steps below:

Note: you will need to be logged in to an account with administrative priviliges.

  1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer
  2. Click Start, and type %Temp% in the Start Search text area and then click
    Temp from the list
  3. Click File from the main menu, click New and select Folder
  4. Type Low for the folder name and click Enter
  5. Close the Windows Explorer window, launch Internet Explorer and attempt to
    print or Print Preview

If these steps do not resolve the issue, continue to the next Method.

Method 4: Reset low integrity level on the Low folder

To reset the low integrity level on the Low folder, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start,
  2. Type cmd in search box->right click on cmd and click Run as administrator.
type or copy and paste the following  and press Enter

    ICACLS %temp%\Low /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low
  3. Restart the computer and attempt to print or print preview from Internet Explorer.
