How to add websites to IE11 - WIN 7 trusted sites?

Hello,

Do you have any idea on how to add trusted sites to IE?

I tried Internet options->Security tab->Trusted sites.

Here the problem is, once I added sites and clicking close and ok and relaunching IE, it is observed that sites are not getting saved.

I tried to save in registry level as well.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\

created key for the website I wanted to add under Domains and added a pin with value 2.

Even this didn't work for me.

Any help would be greately appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Vin,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Just to make sure, I would want you to verify with the following steps to add a website in the category of Trusted Sites:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools button , and then click Internet options.
  3. Click the Security tab and click on Trusted sites.
  4. Scroll down the bar for the security level to Low.
  5. Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode.
  6. Click on Sites.
  7. Type in the website name (e.g., http://www.outlook.com) in the space provided and click Add.
  8. Click on Close and then click OK.

Try reloading the websites and check. If you still aren't able to add the website, then possibly there is an issue with the Internet Explorer performance. Please refer to the following methods and check if the issue persists.

Method 1: Run Internet Explorer Performance Troubleshooter.

The Internet Explorer Performance Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check for any performance issues which are common with the Internet Explorer on the computer and provides the details on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

a) Click "Start" button.

b) Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “ENTER”.

c) In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

d) Click on “Internet Explorer Performance”.

e) Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

d) Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Check the troubleshooting report and share the details with us. You may also try the suggestions given by the troubleshooter and check if that resolves the issue. If that doesn’t help, then try the next method.

Method 2: Check if any add-ons are causing the issue.

Let us check if any add-ons are causing the issue. For this try the following steps:

a) Press the “Windows Logo” + “R” keys on the keyboard.

b) Type: iexplore.exe –extoff and press the "Enter".

This will open the Internet Explorer with all its add-ons disabled. So, now open the Internet Explorer browser and check if it still consumes large amount of memory.
