Can't open downloaded files in windows 10

I can't open downloaded files. When I go view downloads and click open, it just creates another copy of the file below. so I end up with he same list over and over. it won't work in IE or Adobe reader. Adobe says the file is incompatible or corrupt. but this happens with every file I try to open. I never had this problem with windows 8. How can I fix this? I need there files for work.

Thank you.

I as the person above also cannot open downloads in windows 10.  I tried Safe mode to no avail. Kept telling me I was not connected to the internet. As soon as I rebooted left safe mode and internet returned.  I wish I could go back to windows 7.. this was one huge mistake.  For now I need to know how to view my downloads.  Any info would help.

Hi,

To further isolate the issue, we have some questions for you:

  1. What kind file do you want to open?

  2. Is there any error message? If there is, what is it?

  3. Did you make any changes before the issue occurred?

  4. What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We'll be waiting for your response.

Regards.
