KB2957689 Security Update stops IE11 from functioning properly

Since I have installed the KB2957689 Security Patch using Windows Update (auto update) Internet Explorer 11 won't start anymore or aborts within a second after starting it as there is a very short sort of "flash" giving the impression that IE is being started but immediately aborts.

Neither links in an email or shortcuts on the desktop are opening. Same result as described above.

When I manually uninstall the KB2957689 Security Patch IE 11 works fine again. The mail client does open links again, just as shortcuts on the desktop.

Before I manually uninstalled the Security Patch I have tried to "fix" the issues of IE by using these offered solutions:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/ie-crashes-stops-working#ie=ie-11

These suggestions did not fix the described issue:

• restart

• Install latested update (latest update is the cause of this issue)

• Turn IE on and off

I guess that the KB2957689 causes some problems on some systems

Answer
I found the issue with my IE 11 not working.  I had to uninstall the bing tool bar.  It was already disabled, but once I uninstalled it my IE 11 browser started to work normally again.
