Hi Peter,

nvumdshim.dll is filename of the library running on Microsoft Windows operating system. This library belongs in most cases to product NVIDIA D3D shim drivers and is developed by NVIDIA Corporation company.

Follow these methods and check if it helps:

Method 1: Since Faulting module path is nvumdshim.dll, it seems that Java and graphic card drivers files are conflicting. Turn off hardware acceleration on Internet Explorer and check. Follow the suggestion from this Microsoft article and check.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.

yes it must be since you updated to windows  8.1 since it update i.e.  from 10 to 11 and some web page have error and incompatibility with modern browser that is causing all those problem.

you can copy paste those web page url  in the Microsoft free scan toll for web compatibility and see what it show you about the web site. some website are still using j-quarry version1.2 and they need at least version 1.6.3 for new modern browser.
