Changing homepage in Internet Explorer 11

Original title: Internet Explorer

I can't append the internet options. In internet option> General>Home page I want to put Google. I tried to put and press apply. Then also IE does not take the same.

I would suggest you to follow the methods below and check it helps.

Method 1: Run the Internet Explorer Troubleshooter.

The Internet Explorer Performance Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check for any performance issues which are common with the Internet Explorer on the computer and provides the details on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

a) Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys from the keyboard.

b) Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.

c) In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.

d) Click on “Internet Explorer Performance”.

e) Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.

d) Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

If the issue persists, follow method 2

Method 2:

  1. Go to, once the website is loaded successfully.
  2. Click on the settings option
  3. Go to Internet option > General
  4. Click on the tab Use current

Change your home page for Internet Explorer

This is a common symptom of a registry protector.  Try booting in safe mode and make your change there.  Test your change there and reboot in safe mode to be sure that it is persisting across a boot.  Then chances are that your registry protector will be helping to make your preference persist (until the next time you want to change it.)
