What is the Worst possible choice for Windows or Internet explorer ?

Mcafee's name is about to change please don't be fooled by Intel's attempt to misguide people into thinking the issues are because of the persons name instead of the Program :)

http://www.sevenforums.com/security-news/317574-intel-kills-off-mcafee-security-brand.html

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1009_3-57616756-83/intel-kills-off-mcafee-security-brand/

Norton or Mcafee is the worst possible choice,

Mostly because the manufacture was Paid to have one or the other preinstalled on your machine/ Considered Junkware by many tech's and that is the hardest to remove successfully.

http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/297196-top-av-program-use-here-seven.html

Even these utilities offered by these companies often fail to fully remove themselves,

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/norton-360-uninstall/td-p/639381

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331

They are also loaded on a System restore partition drive so in this type of environment a user/ buyer of these machines is actually buying a Inferior version of Windows full system restore will never really give you any positive benefit.

Manufactures and either of these security suite will only blame windows for any issue regarding dysfunction of windows operation/ the biggest dupe.

Another I have to mention is any IOBit product they have several rebrandings

TrendMicro would be just 1,

I believe the link below sugar coated IOBit and didn't comment on the many bsod's IOBit products are responsible for

I've personally seen many instances where using a IOBit product will need a complete clean install to fix errors from usage

It has made it far past the "Installers Hall Of Shame"

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/550005/spyhunter-vs-malwarebytes-vs-iobit/?p=3491490

With Windows 7 fresh install disks available at many online retail outlets like TigerDirect.... for win-7 home premium for as little as 99.00 u.s. it's a wonder why people are reluctant to do a Fresh install ?

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164

I have to admit I was also reluctant to dive into a fresh install but finally did last year for both of my machines and it was the best decision I've ever made/ No more failed windows updates/ No more crashes........

One machine had Mcafee and another had Norton both were infected within 6 months of activation.

After repeated system restore (recommendations from yes either Mcafee or Norton's tech's) lol

Both failed to do the basic job of blocking threats on the net,

Often just their updates were the worst encountering process because neither are Windows friendly or Windows update friendly IMHO.

These are what I now use and have been for the last 2-1/2 years and have never looked back and never will,

Use these instead,

Freebie from microsoft,

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

Save money and add the full pro version of malwarebytes, less than mcafee or norton,

Works well with MSE,

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Then use the free version of this as well for even more ways to clean your machine,
http://www.superantispyware.com/?tag=SUPERANTISPYWARE

One Note to using the Pro versions of the two above,

You do need to exclude each of them from scanning at the same time or each others processes or program folders if you need assistance please ask how and I'll give you the necessary step to take,

Another very good "Free" scanner to use as a one time cleaner is here,

Review Jacee’s instructions to run Adwcleaner here,

Ignore the title of the thread,

http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/303717-unusual-remote-assistance-control-process.html

Free advice.

A fun note,

To this day Norton red flags my attachments as corrupt lol :)

As an alternative to ccleaner please use this instead,

Temp files delete,

Run this as administrator and Start the scanner,

Shut your machine down after it finishes,

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/

Windows has many built in features that do these basic tasks safer than ccleaner does,

Disk clean up along with system clean up are much safer to use and no third party **** needed,

Absolutely ! After years of absolute suffering w/ Norton & McAfee, I went with MSE - talk about not looking back ! ALL of the problems I was having on the internet disappeared ! NOW the only problem is this  "Internet Explorer has stopped working" This is driving me nuts - if I 'x' it out the site comes back, but not always - is Microsoft working on this or ?    Thanks for listening....

View this for the Recommended Reset process,

You should also use the recommended extra scanner and Malwarebytes Pro/ it's pretty cheap and it's a life time subscription No renewals.

I'll add after you reset with the above recommended process,

Adobe Shockwave element will be the Only third party browser add-on which will not be Disabled (not sure why) but Manually disable it/ Alt+TA or Gear symbol/ Manage add-ons/ click on it and Disable.

Going in the "seven-forums" for the first time, I picked up some sort of bug, I'd call it The Freeze and Wait a Minute or Two, until you try moving your pointer, then it moves as you run out of time. I've been running Norton 360 continuously almost to rid my machine of the bugs. Once while opening and deleting email, with saving a few that I might need. As for McAfee, I don't have much use for a guy sitting on an island, paranoid of 0wls in trees, as well as a too drunk on weed. Looks like McAfee, is spending the night there, while I fall to sleep in my PC chair waking up at 6 am without the alarm going off. His wild make me filthy rich on a copy-cat less effective product did make him rich as ****. so who knows how he'll respond to the orders to make it to the US gov. They are no the type to F___ around with, because you could walk away on your elbows with half a spine left. Just ask the a-ho's on the little Cuban Isle what's up wit dat? This damn virus keeps coming back when it gets in the same folder of vicinity that a couple key words are, like "sudden automatic" or anyway, close to those words, except I walked past them sort of, and didn't get the exact words because it didn't dawn on me until after I deleted, so I couldn't get it back. Every time I see the words I change things so I do not use it at all. I delete a page here and there, a couple key words I don't feel comfortable with, and it seems as if it disappeared. They I go online with one of my 3 browsers, knowing I'll be in a world of sh__ in a minute with it open, before I can type, I'm a dumb little punk, with no name yet, at this age. So, I'll just have to wait untill I re-format my harddrive again, which was just done a week ago or so. Which remind me, it's time for the police to step in on the thefts around here, and that is where I am going today.

LOL I couldn't agree more if I tried :)

As for picking up a bug on sevenforum ?

You never know they get spammers and corrupt link droppers just as every site does,

But the sevenforum crowd does monitor content very well even more so than TechNet or even here at Answers.

You get banned quick on sevenforum for any type of nonsense.

Cool. More excuses to not use Norton than besides having to pay for it.
