Question

Q: missing file ie4uinit.exe after installing IE 10 on 64-bit Win 7

After upgrading from IE 9 to IE 10, I ran MS Sysinternals "Autoruns" to see how things lined up. I found that this file was reported as missing: file "c:\windows\system32\ie4uinit.exe". Clearly this is related to the Internet Explorer 10 upgrade. What is the purpose of this file?
