Cannot install IE9, 10, or 11

I run Win7 x64 Home Premium SP1`, and been trying to upgrade from IE8 to any of the later IE's.

IE9 is offered with almost every windows update and when I install I receive an error "internet explorer did not finish installing" with a link on my desktop to how to troubleshoot IE9 installation problems.

I have gone through all the steps numerous times, step 4 manually install the prerequisite components, there are a number of versions, I selected the packageFor Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows6.1-KB2454826-v2-x64, when I attempt installing I receive an error "this update is not applicable to your computer.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Any ideas, thanks

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

As per your description, you are unable to Install Internet Explorer9, 10, 11 and to upgrade the latest Version of Internet Explorer you need to install first Prerequisite updates and when you manually install Prerequisite updates you receive an error "this update is not applicable to your computer”

I would suggest you to try the below Methods and then try to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer and check if you are able to Install.

Method 1: System Update Readiness tool
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/947821

Method 2:

When you install Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7, the installer program tries to automatically install prerequisite components. If this part of the installation fails, Internet Explorer stops the installation process.

So, I would suggest you to check whether this set of prerequisite updates is already installed. To do so, you can refer to the following link for the required set of prerequisite updates and verify them with the installed updates in your system.

Prerequisite updates for Internet Explorer 11

To check the installed updates, please refer to the following link:

See which Windows updates are installed
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/which-windows-updates-installed#1TC=windows-7

After opening the window View update history, you can check with the KB numbers of the prerequisite updates that are not installed and install them manually from the formerly provided link.

After installing updates, reboot your system and reinstall Internet Explorer 11 from the following link:

Download Internet Explorer 11

If you still have the issue, then you may follow the troubleshooting steps as provided in the following link:
