How to update internal Microsoft DNS to require commercial data protection in Copilot

I'm trying to follow the "Require commercial data protection in Copilot" in the following article, which says that I can prevent the use of Copilot without commercial data protection: Update your DNS configuration by setting the DNS entry for www.bing.com to be a CNAME for nochat.bing.com

I am unsure how to do this with Microsoft DNS. I can try creating a primary forward looking zone just for www.bing.com, but Microsoft DNS does not allow to create a CNAME record for what looks like an apex domain, plus it stops regular bing searches from working at all.

Any ideas on how to do this recommendation?

Hello kikoplavddd_777.

Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

The issues on added CNAME is out of reach of the response support community. It is more suitable for publishing on Microsoft Learn,

you can click on "Ask a question", there are experts who can provide more professional solutions in that place.

Here is a link to the forum where you can raise specific scenarios and share your idea to help solve the problem.

I won't be able to help you, but I'll leave that question open in case one of our amazing volunteers has ideas for you.
