Edge and Bing iOS themes no longer independent of each other.

For nearly 10 years I've used Edge in Dark mode and Bing in light mode on my iPhone. Edge is too bright in light mode, and Bing hurts my eyes trying to read in dark mode. Having this setting independent of each other has been a necessity for me.

Today when I woke up Bing was in Dark mode, and no amount of tapping Light Mode in the settings has resulting in changing. Only changing Edge to Light Mode changes Bing.

I love Edge and don't want to go back to Chrome, but I can't continue to use Edge if I can't get Bing back into light mode without changing Edge to it. There is also no option to Log out of Bing.

Hi Kill,

I am an Independent advisor and fellow Windows user.

I tried to check the settings on my end as per your preference and I am able to change themes for Edge and Bing separately.

I would recommend installing any pending system updates and restarting the PC once.

Open Microsoft Edge, click the More icon (three dots) in the upper right corner, and select Settings. Click Reset settings. Click the > icon next to Restore settings to their default values, and then click Reset when prompted.

Let me know if the issue persists.

Hope this helps!

You say you tried as per my preferences but then started talking about PCs. To be clear my issue is specifically on iOS (AKA iPhone). So it working properly on a PC doesn't really help to test and fix issues with the iOS version.

Ahh okay. I apologize. I misread your post the first time.

I checked on my Iphone by installing the Edge browser.

Just to confirm, you are trying to use Microsoft Edge browser in dark mode and want to set Bing.com to light mode?

If yes, I am able to make this change. I would recommend re-installing the edge app and go to Settings>Appearance>Dark to set Edge to dark mode.

Go to www.bing.com
Click on 3 horizontal lines at top right corner.
Go to Theme>Light

I also found this issue today, but it is on my website. If I enable Dark Mode in the Edge browser on iOS, it automatically applies dark mode styles, breaking my site's look and feel.

I don't have these issues on Mac or PC in the Edge browser. They only happen in the Edge browser on iOS.

Everything will work as expected if I select Light Mode in the Edge browser on iOS. Only in this case will the Light and Dark theme work as expected on my site.

It is happening now because of some recent changes in the Edge browser on iOS, which worked as expected two weeks ago.
