I am trying to block the "Related searches" sidebar on the left side of my screen from sliding in. This started happening within the last month or so, after another Windows update (in 2023). I have tried everything I can think of or find in my settings. Nothing is working!

I just managed to remove that in my Bing search. You can use the uBlock Origin extension to filter that portion of the page.
https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/deta...
Right-click on the page > Block element then it will let you pick the entire Related searches portion then click Preview first to make sure you cover the entire portion and then Create

Thanks for the suggestion but I am not interested in adding on a non-Microsoft fix/extension to solve a problem that Microsoft created.
I am looking for a setting in Microsoft that will prevent this.

I recommend submitting feedback by clicking it at the very bottom of the search page and then selecting "Dislike" if you're not interested in the feature. You would be given the option to point out where it is by hovering and clicking on it to include it as a screenshot.

Are you using Edge? Do you get these related search items with other browsers?

I am using Bing. I don't like Edge. But I get the same response when I search in Edge. If I use Google, the "related searches" shows at the bottom of the page, not as a pop-up/slide-in from the left side of the page.

Turning off JavaAcript for www.bing.com killed that Related Searches slide-out in Edge and Chrome and didn't seem to interfere wih ormal use of the page.
In Chrome...
Settings > Privacy & security > Site settings > JavaScript > Allowed (recommended) Turn On > Block > add www.bing.com

Thanks for your continued support. I just realized I am using Firefox as my search engine, then I access Bing. Does that make a difference?

I don't see a way to block JavaScript. You can block pop-ups.
Firefox > Settings > Privacy & security > (on the right) Block pop-ups.
But... I had that turned on and the Related searches slide-out still appeared.
Blocking JavaScript in the other browsers blocked this. I don't see a way to block it in Firefox.

OK, thank you again, so much. It’s very annoying but I guess I’ll either live with it or find another browser that works the way I prefer.

Hi,
I'm using Firefox and in China, the UBlock Origin extension of Firefox is not available in my location.
Could Microsoft Bing provide an option to close it? I think it would be better to give user rights to choose keeping it or not.
Thanks
