bing: remove outdated content not working

I have tried to remove outdated content using a word which is not in the live page, but I just get the error to enter a word that is not in the page !

Are they aware that there is an issue ?

Hi jasonc310771!

I'm Jen, and I'd be happy to help you out with this issue.

I'm sorry to hear about the issue. May I ask if you're the webmaster or site owner of the page? If so, please ensure to follow the guidelines in the following page on how to remove broken links/outdated cache using the Bing content removal tool. You can also check the Submission history table for the status of your request. Thank you.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

Best Regards!
Jen :)

Hi,

I have requested many time before to have outdated cache from the search reults on Bing, all worked. But for a few pages it is not.

I enter the actual url of the page as well as the, right click Bing results page link. I enter this in the Content URL field, select Remove outdated cache and click Submit. I enter a word which is not anywhere in the page content of the live site but shows in the cach version, click Submit.

The message below the Cached page text box shows

The entered text does not appear in the Bing cached version of the page. Please enter a word that appears in the cached version of the page but no longer appears on the web page.

I am not the owner of the website I am trying to have the cached version removed from Bing results. I have removed many site in the past without any issue. Just this and a couple of other pages.

I am trying to remove a certain phrase from the results of Bing, which has worked for the other pages I have requested.

I have even checked the source code for the page, just in case the phrase is hidden anywhere, and it is not there.

Hi jasonc310771,

You may report this concern to Bing using the link below. However, please note that Bing only removes search results that meet a specific set of conditions and circumstances. The best option is usually to contact the site's webmaster and request that the content be deleted or removed.

The content is already removed from the page. Still shows in the cache.

I went to the Bing concern page and it only showed me the link to remove content, not to notify them of a problem.

I have used the contact Bing link and I got what seems to be an automatic response !

I replied to the email but still no reply back.

So I have submitted from the contact bing page again with more information and top line asking for a human response !

Hopefully someone will 'actually' check the Remove Cache page to see that there is an issue.

Hi jasonc310771,

Unfortunately, this community is just a user-to-user support forum and we don't work for Microsoft.. Only the Bing Team have the tools to access and look into this for you. However, they usually take a while to reply which is probably due to the volume of support requests they're handing at the moment so I would suggest to wait patiently for them to respond. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Kind Regards.
