XBOX ONE GAME STREAMING TO WINDOWS 10 Issues

Hi guys and gals,

I'm hoping one of you kind folks will know the answer to problems. I am trying to get game streaming set up so i can play xbox one on my laptop whilst at work.

I'm looking to connect my xbox and laptop together by ethranet cable , I've tried to do this but the app nor the console seem to see each other.

I've also tried connecting them both to a spare router that is not connected to the Internet again it didn't work the ip a dress shown on the xbox didn't do anything.

So could one of your kind folk tell me do you have to be on the Internet for the streaming to work ? And is connecting direct to the console an option?

I'm option to suggestions.

You need an internet connection in order to get streaming to work, this is required to be able to sign into the Xbox App.

Before you do anything I want you to check the version of the Xbox App you're running. When going to settings on the Xbox App, check the about version. At the moment of writing this the Xbox App is running Version 7.7.29027.00000 if you have a lower version number please update it first by searching for it in the marketplace

The Laptop and the Xbox One need to be on the same network for gamestreaming to work. This can be done by connecting them both to a router, however if you have previously set up a static IP on your Xbox One for port forwarding you'll need to probably change it.

On your Xbox One just go to settings -> network -> advanced settings and write down the info written there in case you want to use it again.

If you then go to IP settings in the same menu and click automatic, your IP settings will adjust to the settings of your router. Given that your router has been configured to work on your network.

If you are planning to play online whilst gamestreaming you probably also need to reconfigure ports but if you're at work you might need to contact IT about that for security reasons

HI thanks for your help, ive got the xbox and the laptop weird together now via a bridge connection , so they are Ethernet cabled together, but the video feed is extremely laggy, the video is a good 30 seconds behind , and is very unresponsive . This is the same over wifi also. Any Ideas , the  build  of the app is the one you stated in your post.

Just to give some idea of how its happening when you first connect instead of seeing the xbox feed, you jsut get the xbox app greyed out in the background.

Any ideas on how to make this work, it def not the power of my laptop as its a gaming laptop.
