Xbox one stuck on "please reconnect controller"

Hi guys, can't seem to find any other posts relating to this and I hope someone can help.

When I leave my xbox on pause and go to work for a few hours or do something else when I come back to the xbox the game freezes on "please reconnect controller" just the game, I press the home button and I can go to other apps, but to play the game I have to switch the power off at the plug and do a full start up. Sometimes, but rarely it wiIl work if I eject the game, other times it doesn't, or just press and hold the power button. But 9 times out of 10 I have to switch it off at the wall. Doesn't matter what game I'm playing, AC Black Flag, Forza, Ryse and DR3, so the issue is with the xbox and not the game itself even though other apps work.

Anyone have a fix for this or having a similar issue?

I would suggest not leaving your game on pause for that length of time. Why don't you save your progress and turn the game off?

I have the same problem but different reason after update i hear a weird sound and controller freezes. Mic is messed up too.

Same problem here. Easy fix (workaround) take battery out of controller and put it back in. This happened after recent  March update along with quick resume not working anymore.

Hi Spike68,  thanks for your input. As much as I would like to do this, it isn't always possible as I work from home and I'm on call even when not "at work" and have to instantly get to my work pc, so saving isn't always an option during a fight sequence etc.

It also seems to defeat the purpose of the "always on" capabilities and quick resume when the only option is to switch it off at the wall. I do however endure to save and quit when possible.

Crevi, cheers, I will try this once the issue arises again and will post an update if this fixes the issue.
