Xbox Live Gold problem

Hello, I'm just writing as I'm not sure what's happening. I purchased a 1 month Xbox Live membership on here (xbox.com) and I got the email for confirmation of purchase but i've tried turning my Xbox on and off, signing in and out etc but it still says i'm silver on my Xbox yet on here it says im a gold member. Is this just a glitch? I'm not happy that I can't use a service I just payed for. 

Also when I look on my account section on my xbox it says i've got a 1 month that expires 27/12/2012 that i bought today, 27/11/2012 yet I still can't use any features of Gold and my profile on Xbox shows as Gold to my friends.

Hey there. If you got the email confirmation, you are good to go. It sounds like it's just an issue with your Xbox not "grabbing" the most recent information from the Xbox servers. There are two solutions. 1) Just hang tight and it will eventually show up or 2) recover your account to your Xbox and basically force the xbox to grab the most recent info.

For future reference, you can also just test your connection on the console as well. That will cause the servers to sync up.

I am actually getting a problem with Gold. It says to upgrade to Gold Membership to get access to free games and discounts, but I don't have to renew my Gold membership until next year. I thought it was my internet, but that was connected just fine. I even went to see if my information was wrong but I haven't changed anything drastic. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please tell me.
