Xbox Live disconnects after 5 minutes...

Hello,

I get kicked off of xbox live every 5 minutes while playing a game (Arkham Origins) but I can reconnect instantly again through the Home menu.

My xbox is in a DMZ and UPNP is enabled. I tried port forwarding and then the connection to xbox live gets kicked every 10-15 minutes (DMZ disbled UPNP enabled)

I tried it with UPNP disabled but same results.

I did numerous profile resets, cleared cache and clearing system updates.

My setup:

Modem: Genexis Live Titanium 2

Router: ASUS RT-AC66u with latest firmware

UPNP enabled

no NAT errors

W: 0000 - 000B

X: 0000 - F009

Y: 0000 - 0000

Z: 0000 - 0000

Q: 8007 - 0435
Modem: Genexis Live Titanium 2
It seems that the Genexis Live Titanium 2x is what is known as a residential gateway. This means that it can not only convert the electrical-, or light signal between an Ethernet cable and either CATV, DSL, or fiber, it can also route traffic between networks, or portions of subnets along with NAT (Network Address Translation).

Now, this is not a problem as long as you exclusively use only one router (NAT), as the boundary between your local network and your ISP's. The problem raises as soon as you add  and implement an additional router, or NAT device into a network that has already been NAT'd.

Can you tell us if your Genexis Live Titanium 2 is currently operating as a router, or if this device is operating as a transparent bridge, also known as bridge mode. In this mode, the Genexis Live Titanium 2 will act as standard modem, which I initial stated, converts the electrical-, or light signal between an Ethernet cable and either CATV, DSL, or fiber.

Thanks!

I tried again with UPNP disabled and IP in DMZ and got NAT errors.

Then UPNP disabled and ports forwarded then I got kicked every 3 minutes.

With just UPNP enabled I get kicked every 5 minutes; same with UPNP enabled and IP in DMZ or ports forwarded.

With UPNP enabled, IP in DMZ and ports forwarded I get kicked every 10-15 minutes.

When I'm in te dashboard and not playing a game I get kicked every 10-15 minutes regardless of the settings.
Hey, the Genexis is in Bridgemode...
Appreciate if you can verify that your Genexis is actually operating in bridge mode.

To do this: Access the web utility interface of your ASUS router and look at the Network Map where it shows your WAN IP, or Internet IP address. This is the IP address that your router uses to route traffic between its two segements.

You can either choose to post up the first two octets (the first two dotted decimals) of the WAN IP that you see. For example, 123.123.---.---

The second choise is to take a note of the WAN/Internet IP address and go to http://checkip.dyndns.com/ and look at the Current Address and tell me if this is the very same IP address, as the one your ASUS shows as its WAN IP. A simple yes, or no will do and we'll go from there.

Thanks!

That looks good!

May I ask, how many Xbox consoles do you connect to the same router Internet connection?

Is this console one of the newer models (Xbox 360 S/E), or an older one?

If you have the option, change to a different Ethernet cable, to determine if the the cable you are currenlty using is in mint condition, or if it has a defect.

Restore (Reset) your ASUS router back to factory defaults.

Press and hold the reset button (located at the back of your router) for 10 seconds. Then unplug the power supply and wait a couple of seconds before you plug it back.

Go with the default settings on your ASUS, which enable UPnP by default and leave Port Forwarding (Virtual Server) and DMZ disabled.

Make sure you restore your Xbox network settings to factory defaults.

Let me know how that goes.

I connect only one xbox to the router.

It's an Xbox 360 Elite 250GB with Kinect.

tried a different ethernet cable and no change.

Restored the router with only UPNP on. Port forwarding and DMZ are disabled.

I'll test later and will post the results.
