parental account

can someone please let me know how you can recover a parents live id account my son has been trying to add a friend but can't because of the parental controls, i have tried all the live id and passwords i can think of and even changed my main live id account thinking that would work, but it still won't let me sign on or allow my son to accept his friend. can anyone think of a solution thank you

Unfortunately, if you don't remember the parent WLID/password, there isn't much anyone here can do for you. Is your main account not your son's parent?

You should call support and verify the information for the correct WLID you have with the account in question.

Then you can go about getting the password back for that email.

When you go to accept a friends request on a child account that has that blocked it only asks you for the password. That is if your doing from the console. I don't understand why you would need to sign in. It shows you the email associated with the account. Simply recover the password for the address shown. You will have to use the email recovery tools depending on where your email address is from. There just should not be any question as to what account is used for the parental settings.
