My Console is saying Update Disc Not Found!! HOW DO I FIX THIS!!!???

I recently just repaired a red ringed XBOX. It is now fully functioning, however, when I turn it on it goes straight to a screen that says Cannot find update disc. This happens with or without a cd in the drive. I tried downloading the update patch and burning it onto a cd to play in the console as this was the only type of solution I have seen. This does not work though and I was wondering if anyone else knew what the problem is and how to fix it? Do I need to have xbox live so that I can connect online?

Im not sure if this type of conversations are allowed on the xbox fourms but..... try doing this Unplug your Ethernet cord ( or wireless modem) and goto the dashboard ( assuming you can get to the dashboard) ->system settings->memory-> then click (LB RB X LB RB X) then click yes. Then your xbox will restart. Plug in your Ethernet cord    (or wireless modem) and connect to xbox live. If this does not fix your issue than Unplug your Ethernet cord ( or wireless modem)  and goto the dashboard->system settings->memory-> then click "Y" and clear your system catch (spelled it wrong) Then restart your xbox . Plug in your Ethernet cord ( or wireless modem) and connect to xbox live. If this does not fix your issue than you are screwed because xbox support cannot help you because the console you are on is tampered with
