I am in a dorm and have already been briefly suspended from the wireless internet here for using a router to game. I was wondering if there is any way that I could use a MacBook Pro to create a wireless hotspot to connect to xbox live with my 360.

Yes... go to System Prefrences, select "Sharing." Check "Internet Sharing," and then set it to share to computers using WiFi/Airpoirt from Ethernet.
