HELP Please with PAL 60 issue!

I just bought a brand new 360 S a few days ago, my old one died a while back and I wanted to have a nice shiny new one for MW3/GOW3/BF3 etc.

Anyway, I just DL'ed Black Ops, and went to play it on my TV. Then pops up a notice saying that I need to change to PAL 60. I went and changed the settings to PAL 60, and the picture went crazy (blurred, movement etc).

My TV is HD Ready, not full HD, but I'm sure that if a TV has the HD Ready logo it MUST be able to operate in both PAL 50 and PAL 60. So can somebody PLEASE tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I set it up using what was provided with the Xbox, which, according to the manual, is a Composite AV Cable. Is this the problem? Do I need something different? Maybe I need to buy a composite HD/AV cable? I would just be surprised if the 360 didn't come with what was needed already as one of it's main selling points is that it's an HD machine.

I've tried searching online for solutions but none have worked.

Anyway, if anybody can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would be very, very grateful as GOW3 is out tomorrow and it's the main reason I bought a new 360. If you need any more info that I haven't provided just ask and I will tell. Thanks a lot for any and all responses...

EDIT: This may or may not be useful info, but above PAL settings, where it says HDTV settings, is light grey in color and it won't let me click on it, as if the tv is not HD...i

Composite cables (Y,R,W) are not HD but Standard definition. So if you want to go HD then you are going to need to buy a Component or a HDMI cable for your 360.

It is shocking that Microsoft no longer supply the console with a HD cable in the box.

Thank you, I'm assuming that will mean that I can play PAL 60 games? I agree it's shocking, considering most big games nowadays wont play on PAL 50, but hey, if they can squeeze more money out of you then why not.

Will any HDMI Cable work, or would the 360 one function better?

One more question (forgive how noobish it sounds): Is there a difference between an HDMI and an HDMI AV cable?

Yes if you buy a Component or HDMI cable you'll be able to set the console to play at PAL 60.

Any HDMI cable will work, I have my 360 connected via a cable that cost me under £5 from a local computer store.

No difference between cables branded HDMI and HDMI AV. The latter two letter just get added by some to tell you it is for carrying audio and video.
