Forced re-connect to LIVE

I'll get right to the point; when I boot up my Xbox, the system connects to LIVE just fine. But when I get into a party with another person(s) or I try to start multiplayer matchmaking in a game, I will be disconnected from LIVE shortly thereafter. I will then re-connect to Xbox LIVE and everything will run just fine afterward. It doesn't do this at friends' houses so I know there is something wrong at home, at only at home. Maybe there is an issue with my router or firewall or something? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

have you tried , to troubleshoot the issue , putting your xbox outside your routers firewall (into the DMZ) Just google your routers make model and the words DMZ and XBOX and all will become clear :) If you have a BT homehub then i can help so just shout :)

I knew about this but I don't how how to do it. I can't find any sort of "router options" or whatever on my computer. I sound like an idiot, I know.

I just read up on this a minute ago and putting my Xbox in my router's DMZ sounds like a very foolish thing to do. I don't want to open up my Xbox to hackers just so I can have a smoother LIVE experience.

A solution that doesn't involve jeopardizing my Xbox is, obviously, what I'm looking for.

I am having the same issue it just started today and i am in Germany.  Dashboard would work fine, connected to live and all that but when i start a game it will disconnect me and not allow me to play a game online. I will exit game game and reconnect and it still wont work. I have no idea what is going on.

@ Arcane .......... i said "to troubleshoot the issue" if it works and your not comfotable leaving it in the DMZ i can then help you to use whats called "port forwarding" either way both are pretty much the same thing , and either way you are no more likely to get hacked , unless you use port forwarding for every device you have connected to your router and properly configure your router its firewall is pretty well useless anyway.

This was happening to me a while back. The ONLY thing that did anything was changing our ISP from Verizon to time Warner. It stopped immediately after the change. Plus we were paying almost the same for 10 times the speed :D

Well I'm not at all interested in putting my Xbox into a DMZ and I'm not planning on changing my ISP anytime soon. But thanks anyway :)
