3.5mm jack to RCA?

hi guys I was wondering if using a 3.5mm jack to rca so i could use my turtle beach earforce XL1 while I have HDMI cable in, as I am using the HDMI but my headset will not work with out that audio adapter and I can get hold of the jack to rca much easier. I get no sound and I am told that I need the adapter to get sound from them with HDMI. I am just using headphones in the audio socket of the T.V, but I want to use my turtle beach's.

Yes, if the regular headphones are getting sound from the headphone jack of the tv, the 3.5mm to RCA adapter should work for getting sound to your turtle beaches. You probably already checked for audio out RCA jacks on the back of the tv?

That should absolutely work.  The TB Ear Force XL1 has an amp built in, so it will be able to amplify the sound under its own power.  That would be the only issue.  Make sure to set the sound to Digital Stereo in Console Settings.

Keep in mind your headset uses USB to power the inline amplifier. You'll want enough cable so that you can plug in the headset to an available USB power source along with running the audio from the TV to the headset cable. If your TV has a USB port you should be able to power the amplifier from there. If not, you may want a longer 3.5" plug to RCA plug cable, then a couple RCA jack to RCA jack couplers.
