Can't install Essentials - Error 0x80096005

Hi, 

I am trying to download windows live essentials and keep receiving error code 0x80096005. I have directx11, I have ran Microsoft fix it, I have ran all updates and still get this error code. Can someone tell me how to fix this? I have windows 7.

Thanks for the reply. However, after doing all the steps in the link you provided I am still receiving the error message. Anything else I can do???

Our support specialist would like you to install the components of DirectX 9 as it is a base requirement of Windows Essentials. You can download it here:

 

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

Just an update to your issue. Our support specialist is requesting you to download a specific driver that can be downloaded from this link.

 

Furthermore, please perform a repair to your .NET framework. You may follow the instruction in the link below on how to perform the task.

Lastly, update your .NET framework to latest version. You can download the latest version in this link.

 

After doing so, please install Windows Essentials again using Offline installer. Please refer to this solution article for instruction.

 

If the issue persists, please gather a new set of log files. This will help us to view the acitivty that occur after performing the instruction above. You may follow the instruction in the article below on how to gather the log files.
