I'm getting randomly booted from a router at work for a DHCPNACK error for my local IP at home. At home the IP is 192.168.1.7 but at work it's 192.168.0.11. When I get booted at work, the Event System viewer says this:
The IP address lease 192.168.1.7 for the Network Card with network address 0019D20A340F has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.0.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

I don't know why the router here at 192.168.0.1 is booting me for an address lease of 192.168.1.7 when they're different routers... isn't it supposed to automatically assign me a .0 lease or use the .0.11 lease? I'm confused.
The only problem here is that Windows has declared this message as an Error instead of "Informational".
When you turn on your machine, it will always send a message to the DHCP server that basically says: "Hey, Server: I need an IP address ... and, by the way, my last IP address was 192.168.1.7 and I would prefer that address if possible". The DHCP server receives that message and evaluates the request and, in your case, decides that this IP address is on the wrong subnet and therefore your request to keep this IP address must be denied. So it sends a denial message back so that your computer does not use that address and it sends a new, valid, address on the correct subnet back to you for you to use.
All this is normal DHCP operating procedure and absolutely nothing is wrong except that the status in the System Logs shows as "Error" instead of "Informational".
