'Additional log on information' when connecting to my network.

I am unable to connect to my home network because of this message "Additional log on information is required to connect to this network". It goes on to say "You may need to select a cirtificate or enter a username and password to connect to this network". Then the options are "Enter/select additional log on information" or "Connect to a different network". Ive rang Microsoft, Netgear and my ISP and no-one can help me. Also the wired connection, via ethernet cable, works perfectly.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? how do i get around it?

Hello davies957,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community site.

I suggest checking  the following:

In the Network and Sharing Center, of the machines with issues, make sure that Network discovery is turned on. On that same screen, click on Connect to a network. This should show a list of wireless networks that are available. Make sure that the attempt to connect is to yours.

If your security involves encryption the visitors machines would need to have the same encryption code.

Let us know if these steps resolve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.
