How do I increase the memory in the Windows XP Mode running on Windows 7? It is showing 512mb ram at the moment but on my laptop I have 4gb ram. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Please follow these steps to change the settings in Windows xp mode:
Go to
VMwindow --> Tools --> Settings -->
Memory.
To change this, the Virtual machine should be shut down. You would need to go to
Tools--> Settings and modify the close option to set it to prompt.
Now Close the VM and in the prompt select Shutdown or turn off. You can go to Virtual Machines folder now, click the settings for the desired virtual machine and change the memory to the value you want.

Also, check if you’ve allocated an amount of physical memory dedicated to something else or the memory
remapping might not be enabled in BIOS.
Enabling the BIOS REMAP MEMOR function may fix this issue.
