ipconfig media disconnected

using windows 7 command prompt, I keep getting media disconnected, how can I get my IP ?

a) Are you using a desktop or a laptop?

Make sure that the WLAN switch is turned on.
 
For Windows 7, you may try the following commands.
 
1. Click Start
 
2. All Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt
 
3. Select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following commands, each followed by the Enter key:
 
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog
 
Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
 
Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
 
Reboot the machine. This should help.
 
Later try to get the IP address, you will get it.
