Unable to find secpol.msc service in Windows 7 Home Premium edition to change user permissions

Original title: On windows 7 premium entering secpol.msc returning Item not found

 

Listed as system administrator trying to change user permissions,

on entering secpol.msc in the search programs and files box, returning Item not found

As Deepak said, secpol is not available in Home Premium.

However all is not lost! There's an Excel spreadsheet that details the Registry Keys that Secpol is the GUI for, so you can do the things you need, all be it a bit more long-winded!

Hi,

The service is not available in the Home Premium edition and is available only in the Professional and ultimate editions.
