Desktop Icons disappearing randomly.

Andre and J W, see if you can answer this one?

I've got about 6 desktop icons that like to just vanish. They might do it every few days, or maybe after a couple of weeks. The only set pattern is that they are always the same ones. By the way, they are game icons that are also in the "games" start menu. Everytime they vansish I have to open the games folder and re-paste them to the desktop.

They just did this a little while ago while I was reading some of your replies here. I minimized IE and "POOF", they were gone again.

Got any ideas?

Hi Carow1

You have the Control Panel set to the icon view.

In Control Panel, at the top/right, click the View by: drop down menu and select the Category option.

Continue with the Method 2 instructions in that article.
