DistributedCOM Errors Flooding Event Log

I'm looking at my Event Viewer and the following is written probably over a thousand times?

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID 
{6B3B8D23-FA8D-40B9-8DBD-B950333E2C52}
 and APPID 
{4839DDB7-58C2-48F5-8283-E1D1807D0D7D}
 to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I found the Appid in the DCOM Config via Component Services and It appears to be tied to "ShellServiceHost" any idea how I can keep this from happening?

I haven't seen this problem since 8/18/2015 which coincidentally was the same day that the following Windows Update was installed: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081444) and my machine was rebooted.

I'm marking this closed.

Finally figured out how to fix this damn error.

Basically do the steps in the image:

Once you change the regedit do these:

(Read the text in the pictures for the steps)

Vampyren thanks for writing this up, this is by far the easiest fix I've seen for this.

It's too bad Microsoft doesn't release a patch or fixit tool for this, as I see this 10016 error on EVERY Win10 machine I've seen running anniversary update.        It would seem that on a recent patch cycle there are less of these as I only

got 2 errors on my laptop (the appid and clsid in your post) but I've seen other machines with a lot more of this 10016 crap.. and some of these machines are fresh installs w/windowsupdate cycle done.

Wow it worked! fixed my problem, had this annoying error message when shutting windows down for months now, I had no idea what it was, thought it could be a driver or even a fault with my hardware. I'm feeling very relieved now. Microsoft permissions in Windows 10 eh! 

Anyway thanks a bunch for posting mate! :-)

I am sick and tired of these Distributed Com and Perflib errors. This is very bad programming in my humble opinion and Microsoft should do something to fix them. My computer is locking up and crashing all the time when I'm on line doing something important. I belong to several very large computer clubs. I volunteer to repair hardware and software problems for free for Veterans and the elderly. People are constantly telling me that they are tired of all the problems with their Windows PC's and they are giving away their computers and buying Apples. I am constantly going into my registries in my four Windows 10 64 bit computers and editing it and then going into Component Services and fixing it. A few days later I get a new Distributed Com error. Microsoft should write new programming to replace this pain in the butt to try to stem the tide of computer users going to Apple. It's disgusting.

After navigating to this point in the regedit, I can't save the changes due to Access Denied.

I'm after a solution to get around this please.

I worked it out, created a new user as myself which was already an admin, which I shouldn't need to do as there was an Admins group user already there.. The gave myself full control to modify permissions under the principal.
