Surface Pro error: File:\BCD Error code: 0xc0000034

Anyone know how to fix this problem; my screen shows: 

Recovery Your PC needs to be repaired  
The boot configuration Data file is missing some required information 
 File:\BCD  Error code: 0xc0000034 

 You’ll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don’t have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.   Press the Windows Key for UEFI Firmware Settings.

If you go to the UEFI- it displays options which revert back to the above screen.

Have you tried Safe Mode? Hold Shift+F8 (the Gear key nex to Home) while turning on the Surface Pro to see if you can get into Safe Mode.
