Blank white screen in Skype for Linux 8.13.0.2 after login *UPDATED: 8.15.0.4*

Hi, I have a problem with latest Skype for Linux. After updating, I log in to the application, the Skype logo shows up for like half a second, then everything disappears, leaving just a blank white background within the window frame. I can see and click the upper menu, but nothing happens after. The previous version works though.

My OS is: Linux Mint 17.1 (Ubuntu 14.04)

*UPDATE*

The problem still persists in version: 8.14.0.10

*UPDATE2*

The problem still persists in latest version: 8.15.0.4

IMPORTANT

It took a long time, but I'm more than happy to say that the latest update, 8.16.0.4 finally SOLVED the problem! I just updated and able to run Skype without any sudo or other hacky thing needed. Thank you guys for the fix!
