It seems that Microsoft thinks everybody on the planet has a cell phone. Some of us don't. Some of us hate cell phones and how intrusive and distracting they are. Some of us hate the horrible sound quality and the stupid tiny screens one gets with them. 5" compared to 22" is a huge difference. So for many of us the cell phone is a complete fail. Incidentally, its not a smartphone. Its a stupidphone that makes your totally dependent on it. Its a crutch that fails miserably for many of us.
So yes or no: Is it possible to verify an Outlook or Hotmail account without a phone to receive a text message? (As if I'd ever give a company like Microsoft my phone number!).
Please don't send brain numbing, totally useless Microsoft links which spend 99% of the time protecting Microsoft.
Answer the question. You're smart enough to do that, right? Don't look like an idiot posting a link that doesn't tell us anything. It reflects badly on you. Think for a second then post your answer. That would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I suppose one way is to set up a VOIP account that can receive text messages. I need this about once a year. Seems like kind of a waste.
