GroupMail - Where can I view Junk Mail sent to a group?

I have created several groups in my organization and some of them we have configured to receive automated emails (like security reports, build notifications, etc).  These groups have been configured to allow external senders, and we've confirmed that this setting works as intended.

However, in some cases, we believe our automated emails are being caught in a junk mail filter but we have not been able to find it (or how to configure it).

We would like to be able to easily whitelist certain senders or domains, but more importantly - we want to know when our mail is being junked.

Can anyone help me understand if there's a solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

There are a number of possible reasons why your automated emails become Junk emails. In some cases, an email will be set as Junk email if the receiver marked it as junk or added it to the Blocked Senders list. In order for your automated emails not be set as Junk emails, we could recommend that you advise everyone to set the email domain used by those automated emails as Safe Senders list. To know how it works, you may refer to this link which also guides you on how to set it up on the account.

Thanks for the answer, but it doesn't address my concern.  I want to have visibility into what is being marked as junk.  I can't add something to my safe senders list if I don't know about it.

My question is - how do I _review_ what is being marked as junk that gets sent to our externally-available groups?

If there's currently no way to do that, that's a problem with the Groups interface (in my opinion).  There should be some kind of feedback loop when training junk mail filters - otherwise how are you supposed to know when you have false positives?

Also, I don't understand why this post was moved to 'sending, receiving and reading email'.  This seems to be a Groups issue, since the problem is that the Groups interface doesn't provide insight into what is being flagged when sent to an externally-available group.  Can you please move it back or suggest a better category?

Thank you for the reply. Regarding to your question, we actually don't have a way to review what emails are being junk or reported in Outlook because this is being processed by design. However, you could raise this to our Outlook team as a feedback by using the Outlook Suggestion box. In this way, we can add this as a new feature, which could help you with reviewing emails set as being junk.

Let us know if you need further clarifications.

I could imagine this being implemented by having subfolders within the Junk mail folder - one subfolder for each group.  The group mail marked as junk would be visible in its subfolder.  Ideally, any group member (or possibly just the admins) would be able to flag the email as 'not junk' and it would be delivered to the group as intended.

Alternatively, there could be an option for the group to receive a weekly digest of the emails received that were marked as junk.  This would be less preferable than the former, but at least it would give us what we need to configure our whitelist (maybe).

Given these proposed ideas, it's not clear to me whether this falls within the domain of 'email' or 'groups'.  I imagine it would be implemented behind the scenes as a group effort between two or more teams.

Anyway, thanks for the link to the suggestion box.  I wasn't sure which category I should post in, so I left a suggestion in Outlook > Groups.  Feel free to bounce it wherever it needs to go if you have the power to do so.  Here's a link to the post (which is still awaiting moderator approval)
