Rick Dangerous

Does any of the older gamers on these fourms remember Rick Dangerous, its was developed for the Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and DOS based PCs in the late 1980's.

I have recently gained access to the oringal 8bit graphics and audio from when the game was developed by Core Design and Microprose. If the game was remastered but kept true to the original would it be worthy for the Xbox Indie market.

Any thoughts???

I don't know how well it would do updated. I think a lot of what you think is great about it is nostalgia. If you want you can play the three Amiga versions and find out for sure-

If your thinking about doing that yourself I would highly advise against it since you most likely hold no rights to that game.

As Core Design was bought out by Eidos in 1996 they hold the rights, however I have been in contact with them. As long as I publish the game without a download charge (FREE) then they have no problems with it.

That was the point of this post, to see if the game was worth the time it will take to rewrite and maybe remaster the graphic for Xbox. Even if I use the original 8-16bit graphics, re-writing a game the was written in C back in the 1980's and converting it to C# is a lot of work.
