Game download gets to 80%, then says can't download

Bought Grid for the knockdown on-demand price of £2.69 a couple of days ago, but I can't download it. Every time it gets to 80%, then stops with "Can't Download", leaving a corrupted file on the disk.

I've removed the file, cleared the cache and the marketplace data, restarted Xbox, restarted download, but same problem. Anything else I can try, and if not, how do I request a refund?

Your best bet would be to keep on trying and it should eventually work as long as you have enough memory. As for refunds, you can try contacting support over the phone and see what they can do for you.

If all else, try using an alternate drive like a 16gig USB key, it shouldn't make much of a difference but sometimes helps to complete the download. Then the file can be moved over to your HDD and played from there or left on the USB key.

The file that is left even though says corrupt, is not technically corrupt, its just incomplete. Sometimes you can resume the download from that file by selecting download again. It will over right it on its own if its it needs to be replaced. (At least my cancelled to be continued later downloads have done so) Not able to finish download maybe treated differently.

Thanks. Will try the USB key trick tomorrow when my ISP's data allowance ticks over to zero again, have already wasted 18Gb of it on this :)  (Unfortunately, while cancelled downloads will restart where they left off as you say, once they're considered 'corrupted' they do not.)

Are the 2 of you using wireless networks??

If so please try hardlining your xboxs with an Ethernet cable. then delete, Clear Cache, and R-Download the games you are having problems with.

Also if you still maintain troubles you should check you MTU "Maximum Transmission Unit" settings for your modem/router I find it best when it is set to 1500 if it is low you can experience issues with content because less packets will be allowed to go to and from your computer.

Check this sticky on MTU settings here > http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/9/t/191858.aspx

Hey there Ernesto! That very well could be the issue. We always recommend that your account region match your physical region to prevent issues like this. Please check out our "Change the region of your Xbox LIVE account" guide for more information on that and let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hey im having the same problems and have tried everything. I eventually called the support line and they said I needed a faster internet connection. Im not to sure if that was just a lazy answer to all my problems.

I'm living in Japan and I bought and downloaded 5 of the "On Demand" games from this sale.  GRID is the only one that continues to get corrupted.  I have tried everything in this forum except the router setting.  So unless there is something really special about GRID and region, then I doubt region is this issue in this case.

My question is, is there anyone who bought GRID on the sale, that was able to play it afterward?
