As I await the arrival of a new console, due to failure to read discs and a slight grinding noise, I can't help but wonder if the console I will receive is actually new or a repaired console from someone else who had this problem (or a similar one) before me. I see that I am supposed to keep everything that came with the original console and only return the console itself back to Microsoft. What is being done with repaired consoles? This leads me to believe that defective consoles are being repaired and recycled to gamers waiting for a "new" replacement. I might feel differently if I received a new console with accessories and all. Has anyone else considered this?
If this were true, it makes me think that choosing the repair option might have been the better solution because I know that my original console was taken care of, and not banged on as a temporary fix or damaged otherwise by some other previous owner.
Maybe someone can put all this to rest after receiving a replacement console?
