Hi, I have had this problem for maybe a week now. My xbox will take extremely long to start up and I get an error code a lot telling me that some content is unavailable. Everything runs super slow and I cannot go to my friends list from the guide, as it will freeze for 10+ minutes every time. I have cleared the cache, deleted a lot of data from the HDD, and deleted and recovered my Gamertag. My xbox runs fine without the hard drive inserted. Help is appreciated, cheers.

Hello
If removing your hard drive resolves your screen freeze problem, you can order a replacement Xbox 360 Hard Drive from the Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to replace a hard drive under warranty (the hard drive warranty is the same as your console warranty).

Have you tried reinstalling the latest system update? It is possible that that update had issues. To do so, do the following: System Settings > Memory > Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X > Yes. Let us know if this fixes the issue after you reinstall the system update. If not, it is possible you have a malfunctioning Harddrive.

Unfortunately, this did nothing. I suppose I need a new harddrive.

It could possibly be your connection to Xbox LIVE. I have noticed myself that since the latest update the dashboard takes a lot longer to load so you're not the only one experiencing that. As for the rest of it, it most likely is your connection because I experience this quite a lot (in particular when my connection is very bad). The error message usually means that the connection is not good enough to load all of the content (this happens to me a lot) and the freezing could also be due to you trying to load your friends list and it disconnecting at the same time.
Obviously I may not be right but I would consider seeing how it performs offline before buying a new HDD.
Hope this helped!

Yeah it seems to work smoothly without being connected to the network. Maybe I'll try a wired connection. Nevertheless, I'm happy it isn't my HDD.

I've just realized that this started occurring after upgrading to a new wireless XFINITY modem, and it was fine before. I assume it is the network now, but I don't know how i can make it work well with the Xbox. The network works great for everything else.
