I have an Apple Airport Extreme Router configured with
WPA2 security & 2 SSID's, password for the device and the networks are the same. My password is alphanumeric but its same for couple of other networks I manage myself, I am stressing that point to clear out wrong password option.
5GHz is called google n only mode
2.4GHz is called apple n only mode
All devices on my network are n capable, all computers being 5GHz
MAC Address Access Control (MAC filtering) is disabled on the router
I have Xbox Wireless N networking adaptor (black one with two antennas) brand new just out of the box
Without the adapter my console can connect to SSID "apple" (2.4GHz) no issues
when I plug the adapter to the unit it recognizes the adapter and asks to configure it and it finds all the networks in the neighborhood along with 2 of mine, but it fails to connect either of them, but if I change my radio mode to auto on the router it can
connect to "apple" (2.4GHz) 802.11b/g mode!, still cannot connect to 5GHz SSID, so as the adapter can find both SSID's and many in the neighborhood, I assume that the adapter is fine, but there might be some kind of software update for the adapter ?
what I have done so far,
2 times reset the router start configuring it with default settings
Xbox reset to factory defaults same issue,
Plugged Adapter on the USB ports in the front,
