I used a gmail account to sign up for xbox live and it doesn't work now.

I made an account, both are on my console, not this account, I added xbox live gold to it with the trial, and I used a gmail account to do it. Now, I made an attempt to sign into the live.xbox website and entered the EXACT credentials as I did to make my xbox account, but every time I do, It says invalid, I even checked my xbox dashboard's top right corner to see if it was the correct. Is there any way I could change that email address? When I try to on my xbox it requires my password and It says invalid password. I can provide verification of my ownership of the account. Hi there, I've got a second gamertag with a gmail account that works perfectly fine, though the password for my email address is different to the one I use to sign-in to this website and the console itself.

Have you tired going through the following link to reset the password? This will at least ensure you're using the right password support.xbox.com/.../forgot-microsoft-account-solution
