Headset advice for xbox one

hi there I have turtle beach x41s using the headset adaptor for for my xb1

at first I was having some trouble with surround sound not working properly but managed to sort it.  (Don't know how)

its now just all of u sudden stopped playing surround sound!

im now looking for a new headset but no really sure what to get!! Px5s have been highly recommended to me!!

just wondering if anyone had some ideas?

must be surround sound and preferably wireless

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Microsoft has to update a patch so surround sound eill work on headsets. They need to fast. Ps4 has no issue.. If u have the cash astro is the only 1 i no of that will get full 7.1 surround because of the little surround sound converter brick that comes with it.

Alright mate thanks for the response!!

As I say i don't really have a clue about headsets, but going by your Astros they sound pricey!

I am only willing to spend 150 ish on a headset lol!! They only get used for cod haha!!

Also has my surround sound just stopped because of something with xbox then? If that's the case I won't bother Gettin a new pair lol!!

It could be the audio settings.  Most aftermarket headsets don't support DTS audio (including Astro).  The March update included new settings to include Bitstream and Dolby Digital.

This is the way I set my audio on my One:

Setting > Display and Sound

Digital Audio:

HDMI Audio: Bitstream out

Optical Audio: Bitstream out

Bitstream format: Dolby Digital

That's just what works for me.

I have a pair of Astro A50's.  They're great.  I see no problem in buying lower priced headsets though.  Actually I hear that Xbox stereo headset is pretty decent.  I haven't had a chance to try them out yet (just heard from a friend that own a pair).

I hope this helped.  If not, I hope you get a fix soon.

I'm really happy with the Polk 4 Shot. The sound is great. Very balanced EQ. Stereo headsets like this one are definitely capable of solid positional audio. Also, really good build quality.

The one issue with this headset is that a software update is needed from MS because others have some difficulty hearing you loudly enough. Polk is sending out a free boom mic attachment as a temporary fix until MS rolls out an update, so I'm not overly concerned.
