Credit card hack??? Or fake email??

hi,i had an email on the 20/6/11 sayin this:

Dear Eamonn Porter,

We have been unable to charge your credit card for your Xbox Live 5000 Microsoft Points bundle purchases. The following credit card is the current payment method on your billing account:

Credit card type: VISA

You will not have access to the service until you update the payment information for Xbox Live 5000 Microsoft Points bundle. If payment is due for other Microsoft services purchased with the above card, those services may also be affected.

To view or change your billing account, go to https://billing.microsoft.com, and select one of the following options:

  • To update payment information, click on the payment method's link under 'Payment type', on the next page click 'Go to payment method information', and on the next page click 'Edit payment method information'.
  • To view a billing statement for a payment method, click the payment method's link under 'Payment type'.

If you have already resolved this issue, please disregard this notice and accept our thanks.

the problem being i have never attempted to purchase 5000 microsoft points. a little explanation would be helpful. i wouldnt want to be landed with a huge bill for microsoft errors.
thanks.

Sounds like someone tried to buy ms points with your account. Do you live alone? Does anyone else have access to your XBL account (friends, family, etc.)? Just to be on the safe side I would change the password to your XBL account ASAP.
