Can't get email and password for profile/gamertag on console

I tranferred 3 profiles from my old 360 to my new one.  I get asked for the email and password used to sign into Live to create the profile.  But, I can't get signed in to access the profile/gamertag.  My wife's and a guest profile/gamertag are accessible.  I tried to create a new profile using the gamertag, and the system said it was in use, so I know it's "out there" somewhere.

I tried all the suggestions on the Xbox site to no avail.

Hi bacterial, you will not be able to recover an account without its windows live ID and password. If you do not know that information and can not get access to the account I would suggest calling Xbox Support. If you can verify the billing information on your account they may be able to help you.

Bummer, but I figured that might be the case, hate to lose the gamer rep, etc, but will just have to play more and gain it back.

If you can't remember either the email or password for any one Live account, then you will have to contact Support and go thru the account verification process...either via email or phone.  Do email...that way you can research answers.  If you answer correctly all answers asked, then you can get a password-reset link sent to any email you request.  If you can't then your account is gone.
