Advance replacement orders/when you guys receive your replacement and let people know what to except.

Just wanted to create this forum for people who have to do the advance replacement and to let everyone know when to expect there console to ship out and receive it. Just share your experience with it. And when you receive your email that it been shipped and when you actually received it at your door.

I was told by the order status that it can be Nov 30th to Dec 3rd.

The email I received said 2 business days so i guess we will see. I understand the whole placing he money on

hold but what if someone just spent the money they had on this broken piece of crap. Then they are punished for not having extra money or money to cover it on there credit card.

In the past for Xbox 360 they did the swaps super fast.

Putting money on hold for a credit card is different than them pulling the money and refunding.  They just put a hold so you don't exceed your credit limit while waiting to see if they need to charge you.  Hotels do the same thing.

I got my xbox one at midnight at my local gamestop and went home to play it. Hooked it all up and booted it up everything was going fine then got to the update and started to update. So It got to 80% and say update error please restart. So I did that about three more times always getting the error message around 80% and 90%. So I went to the troubleshooting page on Xbox.com and was told to hold down power button for 5 secs and then unplug power cord. So I did and then when I went to power back on the console it will turn on and then power off 2 secs later. It has done this ever since I tried to troubleshoot it. It was really late and I tried to call customer support that night but was on hold for about three hours and eventually I just gave up and hung up and went to sleep to try later. I woke up in the morning and hoped maybe the console fixed itself but it still would power on for two secs and then turn its self off. So called Microsoft support and was given the option to have them call me back. So I received a call from them about two hours later and was told to do the basic troubleshooting and I went through the steps with the guy knowing it wasn't going to work. Finally he tells me my console needs to be replaced and to do it online and do the advance replacement option and I should have it by the end of the week but who knows with thanksgiving and Black Friday around the corner. So I did the advance replacement option and received an email later that night around 6:30 saying the order has been created and I would get an email when it was shipped out. So me hoping they would ship it out Saturday and hopefully get it by Wed. But that didn't happen. So I created this forum for each other to discuss there experiences and when they get there replacement units sent out and actually receive them. I have to say I'm really disappointed, I've been an Xbox person for over 10 years and I have to say I'm pretty upset with there customer service and receiving a console that I have no clue what it's doing. I do have to say I do love the xbox one, I've played it a few at my buddies house who got the console too. But it does make it bitter sweet, knowing I have it but can't play it because of it not working.

Is it a brand new console or just the system itself?  I just spent $540 bucks and mine came all scratched and dinged up....looks like someone decided to play hockey with it..

The hold just there to make sure it an actual account. Like on mine they just show holding a dollar and If I didn't send the console back then they would charge me the 500$. It to make sure someone doesn't say they have a broken console and then get sent a new one and then keep both.

When I spoke to the rep he made in sound like it a whole new console. But the email I received made it sound like you just get a console and you keep all the other cables and kinect

I plan on demanding a brand new console...with everything.  I paid for one and if something happens and I need to return it to the store, I want the serial numbers to match.

I spoke with a support agent online the night of the 22nd because I received a console with a defective Blu Ray drive. I'm one of the few who got stuck with a console that doesn't accept any discs and grinds them when they're inserted. The support agent didn't even tell me to file for an advance replacement, she just told me to go right to a GameStop retail location (I ordered it online from them) and swap it out. The manager at the GameStop I went to told me that typically, the customer is supposed to just send out the console for replacement/repair and that they hadn't heard anything about swapping it out in store. But he ordered one for me anyway through the company, so I think they're going to let me do it like that. Then they can send the console out for refurbishment. I just hope I get it soon and I hope they give me the right console. I pre-ordered the Day One Edition (probably like everyone else here) back in June. The GameStop manager took down my console's serial number and asked me what color box it came in, so hopefully they don't screw this up.
