Windows Essentials 2012 Microsoft Offline Installer

As of this morning, March 22, 2017,

Windows Essentials 2012 download offline installer (Microsoft site) is no longer available.

(March 21, 2017 was the last date the offline installer was available.)

Windows Essentials 2012

Support Ended January 10, 2017

Although support has ended, Windows Essentials 2012 programs will continue to work.

Windows Essentials 2012 contains the following programs:

Photo Gallery (Windows Photo Gallery 2012 Build 16.4.3528.331)

Movie Maker (Version 2012 Build 16.4.3528.0331)

Windows Live Writer

Windows Live Mail (Version 2012 Build 16.4.3564.1216)

OneDrive

Windows Essentials 2012 Installer installs Windows Essentials 2012 Version 16.4.3528.0331

The installer size is 130 MB.

The package shows in installed programs as Windows Essentials 2012.

The individual programs are not shown as installed.

You will not see Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, or Windows Live Mail in installed programs.

It would be wise to download and save a copy of Windows Essentials 2012 (Offline Installer) to a separate disk as backup.

To install software, perform the following steps:

  • Go to where you downloaded (Downloads) wlsetup-all.exe.

You are AWESOME!!!  I've been looking FOREVER for a way to get Photo Gallery and Movie Maker back.  The Photo Gallery program works the best as a "viewer" for our trail cameras, because it includes a DELETE function.  Thank you so much for your help.  Your instructions worked perfectly and I am now using these programs again on my new computer :o)

I have one question...when you say we should "save a copy ... to a separate disk for backup", do you mean just the "wlsetup-all.exe" downloaded file?

Save the wlsetup-all.exe downloaded file. This file is your stand-alone installer file.

Someday the download link will go away, but you will have your downloaded installer stored safely to disk.
