DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD when running low on battery and coming out of hibernation

I have Sony Duo 13 laptop and Windows 8 gives BSOD when it hibernates after critical battery action and I try to turn it on by connecting the AC adapter. I suspect a driver is a problem. Can anyone identify the driver from the memory dump?

Here is the address to the dump file: http://sdrv.ms/18jx5ss

Hi,

The attached DMP file is of the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) bug check.

This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state.

By default it's faulting pci.sys (NT Plug and Play PCI Enumerator) which is NOT the true cause and is being faulted by something else.

If we run an !irp on the 4th parameter of the bug check (blocked IRP address), we get the following:

[ 16, 0]   0  0 fffffa8007f09060 00000000 fffff88003826c48-fffff880009869f0
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for sptd.sys
 \Driver\pci    dxgkrnl!DpiFdoPowerCompletionRoutine
            Args: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000003
>[ 16, 2]   0 e1 fffffa8008dbb040 00000000 fffff80247fac830-fffffa8017f3af08 Success Error Cancel pending
*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found.  Defaulted to export symbols for igdkmd64.sys -
 \Driver\igfx    nt!PopRequestCompletion

From the above we can see three things. To me, one is very problematic and we will tackle ASAP. However, the other two are small and may not even be a contributing factor, but we'll take care of it regardless.

sptd.sys is the SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win 7 and especially 8.

Remove it ASAP with the uninstaller - http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads

dxgkrnl.sys is the DirectX Kernel and is working hand-in-hand with the next igdkmd64.sys which is Intel Graphics driver.

Ensure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest video card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the latest to ensure it's not a latest driver only issue. If you have already experimented with the latest video card driver and many previous versions, please give the beta driver for your card a try.
