Copying files in Windows 8 adds additional step than Windows 7

Windows 8 has not changed with respect to moving files with same names to a different folder.  It is working the same way it used to work in Windows 7. The file with the same name when moved to a folder with the same name, a few more options appear to make it more convenient  to either replace the file, copy it as it is with another name or compare the 2 files to let you to decide to move the file or not.

I have created a screenshot comparing Windows 7 and Windows 8.  The same process in Windows 8 takes 3 more steps, and you have to go into 2 different Windows.  Microsoft should have left the option to "COPY WITH A DIFFERENT NAME" from Windows 7 in place in Windows 8, and moved the "More options" to the 4th selection.

I just upgraded to 8 and find this to be extremely annoying. Has anyone found a solution/alternate method for this process yet?

Not exactly. In Windows 7 we had:

1) copy and replace the original
2) don't copy
3) copy but keep both files - the new one is automatically renamed to, for example, blabla(1).jpg

In Windows 8 we have:

I agree with Igor_94z. Just add a one row with button "rename" and checkbox "rename all" :)

Over 50% of actions completed on windows involve copy paste move delete of files - the speed with which windows is executing these tasks seems to have improved in Windows 8, but the dialogue box has been dumbed down and does not improve the user experience. I'd like to suggest future versions of Windows strive to minimize the number of questions asked of the user on commonly accessed operating system features, or at least suggest shortcut keys in these dialogue boxes for advanced users to be able to do every option by holding a key while drag and drop, or adding an extra key in the pasting of files.

Example:
I want to move 32 files into a folder, 8 of which the file name is already in existence. I know this ahead of time, and I know that I want those 8 files to just appear with the (2) suffix. I should be able to select all the files (ctl-A), open the destination folder, and rather than just past them with (ctl-V), I want to paste them with suffix for all conflicts so I chose (ctl-shift-V) or some other hotkey varient.

It would be absolutely awesome if the dialogue boxes not only displayed the related hotkey information, but allowed you to click and redefine the hotekeys right from the dialogue boxes. And there should be one control panel utility that tracks all the hotkeys for every possible operation in the system and has a brief paragraph explanation of what the hotkeys do and examples of where you can utilize them to become a faster user of the operating system.

This would breed loyalty to Microsoft products as people are able to customize their own experience, saving time, and making the computer more of an extension of the persons mind.

Tablet touch screen features are not the future of computing, they are great for a mobile experience, but they are terrible for a desktop computing experience.

The future of desktop computing will be when the computer can read your thoughts. Until then I suggest passing up the fad of "touch" computing when it comes to a desktop environment.

Ditto. What KevinInSeattle said. Unbelievably frustrating to go from a two step process to a 6 step one that I do at least 30 times a day. Please consider adding in some sort of functionality that allows me to copy a set of files all to a destination that may have the same file names and simply append numbers to them sequentially if we maybe hold down the shift key, or add in an option on the first collision screen to simple keep both copies like it did before.  Please! :)

Hello. Thanks!  Good point. I have another issue I'd love to get in from of MS so that maybe it can be addressed (getting Explorer processes to let go of files sooner so that I can delete them after previewing them in the side bar)
