I'm getting window installer error 2894 when I try to install new software.

I apparently have a corrupt riched20.dll or riched32.dll.  This is the second time in a row that I can't install new software.  I worked with the vendor on the first one and they told me I had a problem with riched32.dll and they can't fix that.  I ran Microsoft's FixIt program but it didn't turn up anything.  I have a 64 bit Windows 7 PC.  Is there a way to get a fresh copy of them... thanks.

Alternate:

Unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the "Start" menu, click "Run:.

2. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

3. On the "Start" menu, click "Run".

4. In the "Open" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.

Click Start Orb, in the Start Search box type: Regedit.

Scroll to: HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/services/msiserver

Verify that the SYSTEM account has Full control. If it does not, add the SYSTEM account with Full control.

Modifying REGISTRY settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of REGISTRY settings can be solved. Modifications of these settings are at your own risk.
