windows media player cannot change rip location

I am trying to change the location to which to rip my CDs. I have a feeling I changed the file name of the previous location on my external drive, so the media player can't find it anymore. When I look to see where they were ripping to, the box is empty and when I click on 'change...' in the rip options bit, nothing happens at all.

If I click straight on the Rip CD file I get the error message:

Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted.

Any ideas?
